Analysis of calculation methods for energetic measures in systems with electric energy storage
As part of the necessary energy transition, renewable energy supplies are becoming increasingly important. The emergence of photovoltaic systems also enables private individuals and smaller companies to offer self-generated energy on the electricity market. In particular, the calculation of various quantitative metrics is essential for certification as an Energy House 40 and in all sub-categories 40 EE, 40 NE and 40 plus. Important performance indicators here are self-consumption and self-sufficiency. There are different definitions for these metrics, both in public documents and in scientific publications. With the advent of electrical energy storage for private households, there is the additional possibility of buying electricity at low times and selling it at a higher price at a later time. It is theorised that some of the existing definitions for such a system are no longer valid.
Hence the aim of this thesis is to provide a clearly defined mathematical model and consistent equations for those relevant metrics. Existing calculation methods are compared to the provided model and conditions on the suitability of those methods to describe new system architectures are derived.
This will not only provide a better guidance to researchers and policy makers on the extrapolation of scenario results to real life, but will also be helpful to provide better guidelines for certification and energy authorities.
